WE BELIEVE that a strong, personal relationship with Jesus begins and is nurtured by an understanding and love for the Word.  Each child, kindergarten and up, is strongly encouraged to bring his or her own Bible to church each Sunday.  By utilizing the bible in each lesson, the children learn the function and mechanics of how the bible works, as well as learn that the Bible is a valuable tool for dealing with every life situation.  It also gives them a special connection with Jesus, and a tool to understand and learn more about His life on earth and His love for each of us.

WE BELIEVE That God wonderfully and purposely created every member of our church body. And each has a unique experience and personality to contribute to our children’s spiritual growth. (Each regularly attending family is encouraged to participate in the teaching of our children.  Parents sign up to assist our lead Teachers in a monthly rotation, which allows for one month in the classroom and three months off.  Our lead teachers participate in a quarterly rotation, which allows them to take a quarter of curriculum from start to finish.  This provides better consistency and control in the classroom, as well as allows children and teachers to form a trusting, personal relationship that is vital to their spiritual growth.  No special skills are needed.  We all have something to share with a child.)

WE BELIEVE God speaks through children.  He pours out His Holy Spirit on “all people,” children, as well as adults.  Children can and do hear God’s voice, see visions, prophesy, receive words of knowledge, and heal with God’s power through their own little hands.  We are sensitive to Gods gifting and endeavor to nurture and encourage the move of God through our children, and young adults.

OUR CHILDREN are very important to us, here at River City Church.  Children are the future leaders of our Community, Nation, and World.  As such, we take special care to rise up, nurture, and inspire our children to be the mighty men and women of God that they were created to be.  This is a privileged opportunity.  That is why dedicated parents, grandparents, and youth who are committed to empowering our children with the Word of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, staff our children’s ministry.

WHAT WE DO: Prayer, Bible lessons, arts & crafts, drama and puppets, group games, Bible stories, role playing, object lessons, outside play and sports, and much more!  Psalm 8:2 from the lips of the children and infants you have ordained praise, because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
